I am the founder of Sponsor 4 Success (S4S). Sponsor 4 Success started out as Sponsor 4 Sports, There were a couple of main reasons why I decided to create my own personal crowdfunding platform: My son plays soccer at a high level and I quickly realized how expensive it is for parents to afford to pay for their kids equipment, team dues, and travel related expenses. Some very talented kids were getting left behind simply because of financial challenges. In addition, I was constantly approached by kids selling candy bars on the street to raise money just so they can pay for a trip to a tournament. That’s how Sponsors 4 Sports was born. To help remove money from the equation so kids can have a chance to participate, regardless of their financial situation. The first project S4S took on was a youth football team from Louisville Kentucky called the West End Yellow Jackets. They needed additional funds to help them pay for hotel rooms for a trip to Knoxville, TN to participate in a tournament. We quickly raised $1,500 for them and sent them a check. They went to the tournament and placed 3rd. The next project was a high school basketball team in South Africa who needed help to get to Johannesburg to participate in a NBA sponsored event. They made it to the event with S4S’ help and won the tournament. After two successful campaigns S4S took on a non sports related project to help a young performing arts student take a trip to Costa Rica with her class. S4S successfully raised over $5,000 to help her take the trip with her class. The next several projects were non sports related and the Sponsor 4 Sports name no longer made sense. Therefore, I changed the name from Sponsor 4 Sports to Sponsor 4 Success so S4S would be able to take on projects across many different categories. At the time of this update (June, 2016) S4S has taken on over 20 projects in the first 6 to 9 months of operation and raised over $40,000 for individuals and organizations.
