Torinae Is Going To College For Musical Theatre

Torinae’s going to college!

Hello, my name is Torinae Norman. I am currently a senior majoring in musical theatre at DuPont Manual High School/Youth Performing Arts School (YPAS) in Louisville, KY. My dream is to be a performing artist and social justice activist to help make positive changes in my community and the world.

I have been working on my craft from the age of 4. Over the years I have learned and performed various styles of dance (ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, liturgical, modern, and West African), theatre/musical theatre (Lion King, Annie, Shakespeare, McBeth, The Color Purple, Hairspray, Shrek the Musical, Drowsy Chaperone, A Raisin in the Sun, and Sophisticated Ladies based on Duke Ellington’s music), and vocal (including operatic, gospel, pop, and R&B).

In May 2018 I will be graduating high school and entering college in Fall 2018. In order to make this next educational step into college there are several things I have to do in order to get into the best college for musical theatre in my continued journey in becoming a professional performing artist and social justice activist.

Take the ACT
Apply to several colleges
Travel to several states to audition
Needed for the auditions (head shots, artist resume’s, sheet music for my accompaniment, audition outfits
Senior pictures)
Miscellaneous

Please help me get to the next level to be able to share my God given talents and to help people across the globe!

Thank you in advance for believing in and supporting me!
