The National Society of Black Engineers University of Louisville Chapter's mission is "to increase the number of culturally responsible black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community."
The University of Louisville NSBE chapter was founded in 1974 by professor Hart. Professor Hart is a very compassionate teacher that still attends events today and the chapter named an award after her during the annual Miss Black UofL scholarship pageant. The chapter grew tremendously over the past few years. Around 2013 the chapter had about 6 members and this past year it had about 40 members and growing.
S4S is sponsoring 2 students travel from the U of L chapter so they can attend the Regional NSBE conference in Jackson, MS. We are looking to raise $935 to cover cost of transportation, hotel, and attendance fees.
We thank you in advance for your contribution!
