Shawnice's Study Abroad Program
My name is Shawnice Whitfield, I am currently a senior at the University of Kentucky pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Health, Society, and Populations with a concentration in Public Health. I also work as a Resident Advisor, along with serving as the Parliamentarian with the National Pan-Hellenic Council, and a member of both the Phi Sigma Theta Nationals Honors Society & the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
I am pleased to announce I have been accepted into the 2017 Summer Tanzania Study Abroad Program (June 7th – July 10th ) with Kentucky Institute for International Studies (KIIS). During the five weeks abroad, I will attend daily classes studying Public Health (Global Health-Learning Practicum, and Occupational Health & Safety), earning six credit hours towards my undergraduate degree. This trip is not only an extended learning opportunity but a chance to serve those with health needs in the community of Tanzania, a chance to be immersed in a different culture, and a chance to network internationally about changes in the health industry.
I am working hard to cover the expenses of the program, and will receive scholarships to offset some of the cost. However, I still need HELP! Please consider becoming one of my sponsors with a sponsorship donation. As a sponsor, you will receive updates of my adventure through Facebook before, during and after the Study Abroad Program. Corporate sponsors will also receive generous, positive media promotion through Facebook and Twitter biweekly for two months prior to my Study Abroad Program.
I have payments due on January 15th & March 15th, and the final payment on April 15th. Please support me in this educational trip of a lifetime. Any donation will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for believing in and supporting me.
