We at the Kentuckiana Alliance for Athletes, LLC, in conjunction with Building Lives Through Sports Network, INC are hosting our annual Bluegrass Showcase & Skills Challenges this spring. This event will feature some of the best high school student-athletes in the Kentuckiana area, and allow them to showcase their talents in front media and college coaches. Also, prior to the showcase we annually host a FREE parent/guardian recruiting seminar where supporting adults have the opportunity to learn more about THE PROCESS from various guest speakers.
The student-athletes are required to bring their most current high school transcript and ACT/SAT information with them to the event. We ask for this to be on-hand so that once a young man has performed on the field, he can also spotlight his scholastic talents to the visiting coaches by providing the mentioned academic records. This goes along way in the recruiting process because now coaches do not have to wonder if the young man, who may have peaked their interest athletically, can fit in their program academically.
One of the bonuses that we provide is hosting the showcases on a college campus. This is done to help young people become familiar with what various college campuses and facilities look and feel like. Plus each visited University/College has a representative on-site who shares registration and other academic information with the participants and their families.
We are seeking donations to help the potential under resourced families in the area. Many of the young men who would greatly benefit from this opportunity some times do not participate because of the financial burden it may cause. Your donations and sponsorship will help to ease that idea and allow a young person to believe that being a student-athlete in college is possible. We appreciate any and all donations to help the participants grasp their dreams.
