The Annual Louisville, Kentucky Central High School (CHS) Alumni Give-Back Service Project is seeking out sponsorship and donor funding. The service project will be conducted in Fall 2017 by CHS Alumni Volunteers (from Louisville, Nashville, Atlanta, Chicago, Orlando, & San Francisco and representing Alumni Classes 1964-2008) to provide a Career Day and College/ACT Scholarship Award Contest for Junior Magnet Students at CHS. The vision behind this project is for Alumni Volunteers to do more than just “talk to kids” about careers. The purpose of this project is for Alumni Volunteers to provide a specialized, unique experience for Magnet Students by conducting high-quality presentations that included high-tech visuals, remarkable demonstrations, participating in meaningful activities, and engaging in mentor-mentee relationships regarding careers/professional work, applying for college, writing college letters of intent/job resumes and taking the ACT. Through this project Alumni Volunteers will leave a lasting impression on the CHS Magnet Student, which will encourage them to pursue college and professional careers.
S4S has agreed to partner with Central High School and raise the money to cover the cost of prepping and taking the ACT for 24 students plus one $500 scholarship.
